Breakfast is included here and is by far and away the best we've had in Spain. Starting with slices of bread and shaved ham, followed by fresh fruit and yogurt
Then toast, home made cake and TWO cups of coffee!
Last evening we walked along the beach to a bar for supper, I thought I was going to have octupus (pulpo) but ended up with chicken (pollo).... oh well....this might be my new favorite wine...
This morning we headed out to see the lighthouse (faro) at the edge of the old world, about 12 km round trip....walking without our packs is like ....easy.
Passing these vicious gaurd dogs!
A statue along the way which so depicts how we felt many times.
The road on the way up, it is still foggy as ever and drizzly , but it is not cold....about 18 degrees
And Finnisterre looking back.
This is the 0.0 km marker which marks the official end of the camino.
Near the edge of the world
The lighthouse.
Part of the ritual of the camino is that when pilgrims get to the 0 km marker they burn the clothes they have worn for the past 40 days...and we can see than many have done just that
Many of the shoes left here look better than the ones we are still using!
As close to the edge as I'm getting!
We don't burn our clothes, they may self combust on their own, would like to get through the next two weeks with what we have
From the edge
We walk back into Finisterra and I have a goat cheese salad...love it too.
I think what we like about this place is the water for one thing, it is very laid back, peaceful and not a city. And it is very beautiful!
