We have a sleep in and leisurely morning. We walk to the 13th century Catedral de Santa Maria - built essentially Gothic, it combines many different styles, having been embellished by the great master builders.
It is somewhat confusing as the out right oppluance had to have come on the backs of peasants. None the less it is a piece of our history and the architecture is stunning. I am posting only a few of the many photos I took there today
These were the flowers over the tomb of elCid
There was so much to see....we did have an audio guide so that was great.
We returned to our hotel for lunch , it is so foreign to us to see a large (or small) city close everything down from 2 to 5. No matter - we needed the rest!
Back on the trail tomorrow
