Ponferrada - Villafranca del Bierso (pop 5000) 26.4 km October 22

This morning as we were getting ready to leave it was raining, by the time we left our hotel the rain stopped and eventually we were down to a tee shirt and zipped off shorts.  It seems we were just ahead of the weather, many of the pilgrims were not so lucky.

We stopped for our usual breakfast at Columbrianos and notice across the street that a concrete pole has been erected to keep the storks nest out of the bell tower!
Many times we have seen a plain white van pull into the remote villages and blow the horn.  The locals come out to buy his wares

This guy had mostly bread, some have fruit, canned goods and other food stuffs.  He goes a few blocks further, blows his horn and meets his new customers.

It has rained a lot over the past few days, this is our trail and we keep busy keeping our feet dry
The views are pretty fine and we see fall making a statement
We are back into gardens, olive trees and vineyards.

We can see the water levels are very high
Today seems like a very long walk, I think yesterday played me out both mentally and physically.
We arrive at our destination and settle on accommodation at the Hotel San Fancisco....
50 Euros, the showers are hot!

The view from our room
