This morning we get ready to leave
And make our way to the reception, one of the convent nuns bid us a buen caminio
The temp was only plus 10 so a bit cooler.
As we made our way some of our pilgrim friends were disrobing once the sun came up!
Harvest of the sunflowers in the distance
We stopped for coffee at Granon and met our Swiss /German friend (that speaks neither Swiss nor German ) and he was having abeer with his omelet ! I have converted to caffe con leche (with milk) as the caffe americano is about the equivalent of two gulps. AND I have not even had a sniff of peanut butter since I left home!
We continue on the trail
And I continue to entertain myself
We pass a field of cauliflower
And an onion field
This is how you really roast red peppers...with a torch!
When we get to Belarado we find accommodation at El Caminante, a private room with a shared bathroom.
We are the only ones here! (35 Euros)
We are becoming accustomed to the Spanish lifestyle . We get our groceries before two o'clock and incorporate a delightful siesta into the afternoon (after laundry)
We did go to the church here ( no charge)
And notice the storks nests in the bell tower
We also see dwellings built into the caves in the mountain -said to have been inhabitated by hermits
We also visit the albergue here (where we are not staying) and notice the shoes ....
And walking sticks
We have a pilgrims meal of seafood palella (Sid has bean soup instead) grilled hake and Carmel custard pudding, with red wine of course. Similar to last Saturday the Spaniards are partying hardy and we hear many of them still at 4am! I love my earplugs .
PS
Neil Diamond is not a camino kind of guy!
